Cross Country Program
Grades: 3-8
IDCS Cross Country is a seasonal, non-league athletic program focused on endurance, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The program is open to students in grades 3–8 and is designed to build running skills while fostering a positive team experience.
Program Schedule
Cross Country typically runs during the fall season.
Practices are generally held three days per week after school at IDCS.
Practice days, times, and the season calendar are posted annually on the Sports Calendar.
Practices are not held on half days, holidays, snow days, or days when school is closed.
Registration & Fees

Enrollment is limited and available on a first come, first served basis

A completed registration form and payment are required to reserve a spot
- Registration and program information (coaches, schedule, etc.) are sent out to families via ParentSquare a couple of weeks prior to program start date

Program fees are processed through ProCare

Scholarships may be available based on financial need (one sport per school year)
Practice Expectations
Attendance is taken at each practice. Students are expected to attend regularly and participate fully.
All students must:

Bring their own water bottle

Wear appropriate athletic clothing for weather conditions

Layers for warm-up and cool-down

Athletic shoes designed for running

Students will be assessed during the early weeks of the season to ensure they are able to safely meet the physical demands of the program.
Meets & Transportation
Meet schedules are posted on the Sports Calendar once finalized.

Transportation is provided to scheduled meets

Parents/guardians are responsible for prompt pick-up at the conclusion of each meet
Uniforms
Students are expected to wear an IDCS team shirt and black athletic shorts. Team shirts may be available for purchase each season. Additional details are provided at registration.
Participation Requirements
Prior to participation in any athletic program, families must read:
If these forms have already been completed for another sport during the current school year, they do not need to be resubmitted.
Late Pick-Up Policy
Students must be picked up promptly at the scheduled end time. Late pick-up may result in additional charges. Repeated late pick-ups or ongoing behavioral concerns may result in removal from the program without refund.
Behavior Expectations
Students are expected to:

Remain with their coach during all practices and events

Follow all team rules and safety expectations

Demonstrate respectful behavior both on and off campus
Failure to meet behavioral expectations may result in dismissal from the program without refund.
Weather & Cancellations
Weather-related cancellations or changes will be communicated via ParentSquare.
