  • No School, November 5th:  There will be no school on Tuesday, November 5th due to scheduled Staff Professional Development.
  • Fridays in the Middle School all students participate in enrichment programs ranging from Weeding to Arabic to Social Justice. Do you have expert knowledge, a skill, hobby, or service learning idea that you would like to involve students in the 7th and 8th grades with? Contact Ms. Osten at maryo@idcs.org with your idea or for more information.
  • Picture Retake Day, October 30 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: All students who were absent on the original picture day, will automatically have their picture taken on retake day.  Anyone else that would like a retake should send their original packet in with a note to retake the picture.  If you did not receive a packet or needed a sibling retake, please send a note indicating your request.
  • IDCS presents WATCH DOGS Pizza Night: November 13 at 6:00 p.m. we invite all Fathers or Father figures to join their child for pizza and an informational meeting about the Watch Dogs program.  More information coming soon!
  • IDEA presents a BOON Supply Fundraiser.  40% of all purchases go directly to our school. Boon Supply offers over 200 home essentials, from reusable grocery bags, home storage solutions, hand bags and wrapping paper to gardening supplies and kitchen toolsWe need your help! Catalog orders must be turned in by November 11th.  Click HERE for more details and HERE to order online.   
  • IDEA Planning Meeting, October 28th at 5:30 p.m.:  The Integrated Day Education Alliance is a parent/caregiver organization similar to the PTA or PTOs you might see at other schools.  IDEA sponsors fun and educational events throughout the school year.  All of the money raised by IDEA fundraisers goes to classroom expenses, field trips, IDEA supplies, food, fun and educational events.  Meetings are held in the IDCS Main Floor Conference room.  All are welcome to attend.  We hope to see you there!
  • Upcoming IDEA EVENTS:
    • Book Fair(s): IDEA plans and organizes two Scholastic Book Fairs during the school year; one in November and one in March. The fall book fair will be held  November 6, 7, and 8. We need parent volunteers to help. Please sign up HERE.
    • Lyman Orchard Pie Fundraiser: Ordering is now closed. Pick up is scheduled for November 27 during the Bread Feast and Caring and Sharing event. Thank you to everyone who ordered!
    • Caring & Sharing: Caring and Sharing is a unique IDCS event. Learning buddies work together to wrap books, create placements, create cards as well as other items for local community organizations. Parents/caregivers and staff supervise the various groups. This takes place on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving or the day before Winter Break.
    • Bread Feast: Bread Feast is a unique IDCS event. On November 27th, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, parents/caregivers provide different kinds of bread and spread as well as fruit and juice for Bread Feast. The food and drinks are set up on two long tables. Then, students, staff, and parents/caregivers eat the food together in the dining room and the gym.   
  • Pentatonix Fundraiser for the IDCS Foundation:  The IDCS Foundation will be selling Pentatonix Christmas 2019 Tour tickets.  Click HERE to order online.
  • Lost & Found: Bins are located near the former main entrance area. Periodically, pictures of lost and found items will be posted in the newsletter. At the end of every term, the clothes will be donated.
  • Halloween: Just a reminder that IDCS does not celebrate Halloween. Please, no costumes.
