IDCS Newsletter ~ January 8, 2021

 Dear IDCS Families,

I hope everyone had a restful holiday break.  We will continue our remote learning model through January 15.  Cohort A will return to in person learning on January 19 and Cohort B will return to in person learning January 21.  We look forward to seeing students in person on the third week of January.

Families should continue to inform Nurse Dooley of any pending or positive cases and continue their diligence with social distancing, mask wearing and hand washing.

Please review the following links from the CT Department of Education and Uncas Health Department.

Keeping our IDCS students, families, and staff safe during the pandemic is important. Please continue to report, pending or positive cases of COVID-19 to the school in a timely manner.  Your prompt actions help to identify close contacts and comply with reporting to the State Department of Health.  This needs to be done regardless of distance learning.  Please email me at:  kathyd@idcs.org or call 860-892-1900 x431.  Please provide the following information:

  • The date tested.
  • Was it a rapid test or molecular (PCR) test?
  • Result?
  • Symptom onset?
  • Asymptomatic?
  • Bus student?
  • Close Contacts?

Someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period* starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to test specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.

Let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you.
