Winter Illness Guidelines

Dear Parents and Guardians:
This is a gentle reminder to keep some important items in mind as we are in the midst of this cold and flu season.
First, please be alert of symptoms of seasonal flu which can include:
  • Sore Throat
  • Cough
  • Stuffy Nose
  • Chills
  • Headaches and Body Aches
  • Fatigue
  • Fever (100 or greater)
Also, please consider the following before sending your child to school after they have been home ill.
  1. Have they been fever free for more than 24 hours*.
  2. Have they been without vomiting or diarrhea for more than 24 hours.
  3. Do they appear well enough to return to school for a complete day of school.
*It is important not to administer Motrin/Tylenol to your child in the morning for a fever and then send him/her to school.
Keep the above in mind when making a healthy judgement for your child.  This way they can be happy, healthy and learn better during their school day.
Thank you for your cooperation.
