Staff Bio & Interview

Name: Matt Scott
Position: IT Specialist
Number of Years @ IDCS: 6

What is the most inspiring part of your job?
The most inspiring part of my job is to watch the students grow throughout the year and create meaningful relationships with students and staff in the community here at IDCS.

Family, Pets, Home:
I have a wonderful daughter named Braelynn, a 8th grader, who has attended IDCS since Pre-K.

Hobbies, Skills, Talents OR what do you like to do when you are not working?
I enjoy watching and playing almost every sport, coaching basketball, playing video games, and my absolute favorite thing to do is go fishing and spend time by the water.

Who is someone you admire and why?
I will always admire is my Dad. Since I was a little boy, he always encouraged me to do the right thing and work hard to achieve my goals.

What is something you want to learn more about?
Something I would like to know more about is how to scuba dive. I am absolutely fascinated with the unknown and how many different species of animals are in our oceans.

If you had to eat only one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life it would have to be crab legs or lobster. I am a huge seafood fan.

Anything else?
I worked as a paraprofessional at IDCS in grades 4, 5, and 6 over the past three school years. I really enjoyed working with the students and helping them become successful in and out of the classroom. I was promoted to IT Specialist where I am looking forward to the challenges and adventures that come along the way.
