Supportng the Whole Child

It has been a very busy first few months for me at IDCS.  I've enjoyed getting to know many students and families.  Most of my time is spent ensuring our children have the emotional and behavioral support they need so they can focus on learning.  I do this through individual and group counseling; working with the PPT, 504 and Child Study Teams; presenting classrooms lessons on topics like anxiety, self-regulation, responding to mean behavior, and more; and collaborating with local agencies to teach our children how to take care of themselves, and their friends, emotionally during a crisis.  I base my classroom and school-wide work on the results from the many surveys parents, students and teachers have responded to over the past year.  What you notice about your children's well-being is critical to us at school, and I will continue to address the struggles you have highlighted for your children.

I plan on using this webpage as a living resource for parents.  I will include videos, articles, and tech information to support you as you support your growing child and all that s/he will encounter in these important developmental years.  Please click on the links to the left to explore topics that may be relevant to you or your child's school experience.  I hope you find the information useful.
